Comfort is currently writing a book, Arranged Marriage: Dilemma of an African Girl, that features empowering stories about her life and her culture. She had recently created an inspiring online course on improving self-love.

Resilience and Gratitude: Comfort’s JourneyComfort shared her personal story about resilience, detailing her journey from an arranged marriage in Africa to a successful career in the US. She emphasized the importance of gratitude and perseverance, noting that she left her husband with $50 and two children, determined to show her daughter that hardship does not dictate one’s future. Despite not having the support of her family, Comfort remained focused on her goal and managed her challenges one day at a time.
Writing Journey to Successful Book: Comfort shared the journey of writing his book, which was a project born over 20 years ago. He revealed that he and his son wrote about 12,000 words initially, and then he and his daughter wrote over 40,000 words in 2016, which eventually became the book. The discussion was a part of a larger conversation about success and the steps that lead to it. Arranged Marriage Experience Shared: Comfort shared her experience of an arranged marriage, explaining that her family had set her up with someone from his family. Comfort explained that in her culture, arranged marriages are traditional and often involve financial considerations, with the expectation that the girl will support her aging parents. Despite pressure from her family to return to her husband, Comfort chose to leave the marriage when she was ready. She also clarified that she didn’t seek permission for the divorce, underlining her determination to make decisions about her own life.
Life Experiences and Gratitude: Laurie and Comfort discussed Comfort’s life experiences and the courage she has shown in her struggles. Comfort expressed her gratitude for her family, particularly her granddaughter who helped her edit and write a book. Comfort also shared a song she had written about her experiences. Towards the end of the discussion, Comfort asked Laurie and her colleague about their plans for their viewers in 2024 and about an upcoming retreat. It was revealed that their first retreat had taken place in Canada in September.
