Exploring Time Freedom and Passion
RaRa & Laurie discussed the concept of ‘time freedom’ and its significance.
They defined it as the autonomy to choose how one spends their time, rather than being tied to a particular job or routine. They emphasized the importance of understanding the ‘why’ behind one’s actions and choices & how this
understanding can create passion and drive. Laurie suggested that self-care is crucial for accepting and receiving, which is an essential part of giving. The
conversation ended with RaRa and Laurie sharing their thoughts on what they
would do with extra time if they had it.
Hiring Others for Enjoyment and Income
Laurie shared a personal story about her mother’s advice to pay someone else to clean the pool instead of doing it herself. She explained that her mother suggested this because Laurie was making more money and could afford to hire someone who would enjoy the task. Laurie extended this idea to cleaning the house, suggesting that there are people who love to clean and would appreciate the extra income. She concluded by emphasizing the importance of choosing a business that aligns with one’s passions and interests.
Planning, Reflection, and Freedom Closet

Laurie, based in Nashville, Tennessee, also introduced herself. The session was part of their weekly coaching and training, and they planned to delve deeper into the topics of sales and integrity.
Selling With Integrity and Flexibility
In the meeting, RaRa and Laurie discussed the importance of selling with integrity. They emphasized the need to listen to the needs of the client and not just focus on making a sale. They also highlighted the importance of being flexible and not pushing the client to make a decision instantly. RaRa shared that selling with integrity means giving the client a chance to understand the value proposition and possibly letting them sleep on it before making a decision. They also discussed the potential for clients not being in integrity themselves, and the importance of being skilled in handling such situations.
Integrity in Sales Quotes
Discussed Laurie shared a personal experience where she received identical quotes from two different sellers, with one seller attempting to undercut the other by claiming they were less experienced. Laurie and her husband decided not to choose the lowest quote due to the seller’s lack of integrity and negative comments about the other seller. RaRa agreed with Laurie’s assessment, emphasizing the importance of integrity and how it can be perceived by others.
Integrity in Sales: A Win-Win Approach
RaRa emphasized the importance of integrity in sales, stating that it is the foundation of any successful transaction. They used the example of a Nespresso salesperson who provided excellent customer service, allowing the customer to taste and choose different options, ultimately leading to a more satisfying purchase. RaRa also highlighted the potential negative impact of a salesperson who tries to undercut a competitor’s price, implying that it could be seen as an insult to the customer’s decision-making abilities. Laurie agreed with RaRa’s points, acknowledging the win-win situation created by the Nespresso salesperson’s approach.
Alignment and the Value of Experience
Laurie and RaRa discussed the importance of alignment in personal and professional relationships. They emphasized the need to feel aligned with business partners, friends, and potential clients, and the potential consequences of not feeling this alignment.

Story in a Snapshot:
She has been helping people through catastrophic changes for over 25 years. First as an insurance claims adjuster and now as a financial planner, she deals with death, divorces, job losses or heck, even lottery wins – sudden events that make a huge change in someone’s financial life.
She helps people get from “oh shit, now what?” to “I’m going to be OK” by growing their money and making strategic decisions to ensure they will always have more than enough. She wants them to be calm, comfortable and confident about their financial futures.
Her Gratitude Moment:
I haven’t had an easy career path, and I’ve spent a lot of years working far too hard and making far too little. Being a financial planner is my 4th “career”, and I’ve started over from scratch as a planner 4 times! Through it all, my husband Sean has been patient, and supportive, and never second-guessed any decisions I’ve made (even when it meant refinancing the house – again). We’ve been together since high school. He’s been there when I worked myself into the hospital, through 2 back surgeries in an 8 month period (I spent a full year on morphine – which is not as much fun as that sounds). He’s my non-demonstrative, verging on non-verbal rock, and I would not be the person I am without him. At the same time, we each have lives apart from each other and don’t need to be attached at the hip – prior to Covid, we were rarely seen in the same room at the same time, and plenty of people were surprised to hear I had a husband! He makes me feel better without letting me wallow in my own bullshit, and I like to think I do the same for him.
